Philosophy at Haganässkolan
Our philosophy is that student learning flourishes best when students feel emotionally and physically safe and happy at school, and also that they feel that they are adequately challenged. The school has three profiles that it works to develop: Entrepeneurship, International, and Healthy Lifestyle. These three profiles permeate all areas of the school.
Within our Entrepeneurship profile, successful students can see their ideas take action through the design process.
Within our International profile, we celebrate individual diversity. All students are supported by skilled and knowledgeable teachers who give meaningful feedback for student success, in a stimulating environment. Students’ mother tongues are supported, and students are also given the opportunity to choose from many other languages to study.
Within our Healthy Lifestyle profile, the importance of leading a balanced lifestyle is highlighted. We believe a truly balanced student is one who strives to exemplify all of the aspects of the IB Learner Profie.
The mission of our school is to create a school-wide community that is Internationally-Minded and values diversity. Through a broad and balanced course offering, our students will be versatile in their knowledge. Through the study of engaging topics that have global relevance, our students will be caring and principled; taking responsible action in local and global communities. We aim to develop reflective and independent learners who will reach their highest potential. To cultivate International-Mindedness in our entire school community, we are guided by the attributes of the “IB Learner Profile”.*
