Electricity and Energy Programme

Orientation: Electrical Engineering

Do you like finding out how things work? Do you find solving theoretical and practical problems satisfying? If you do, you should sign up to the Electricity and Energy Programme!

Nearly everything we use in our day-to-day life needs electricity in some form. In the Electricity and Energy Programme, you will acquire knowledge of several areas of the technology. The course sets out to train you in the use of the right materials and tools, and to enable you to plan and evaluate tasks. You will also read subjects that are studied in all lines of Gymnasium (upper secondary school); English, history, sport & health, natural science, social studies and Swedish.

In your professional life, you will meet different people and be responsible for ensuring that work is done professionally, often in association with other professional groups. Against that background, you will develop your capacity to work with others, deal with customers, provide service and skilfully perform work, both at companies and in people’s homes. It is common in these areas for both major corporations and one-man firms to operate.

During your course, no less than 15 weeks are based in a workplace.

Orientation: Electrical Engineering
You will learn to lay cables for electricity, repair faults and install networks for data, telephony and other communication. Your profile will also be angled slightly towards automation to meet the need for skills in the companies of the region, which we work very closely with.

What career options will you have?
On completion of your studies, you will obtain a professional qualification and will be able to start out on your career path right away or continue to study at an institute of higher vocational education. You can also arrange your Gymnasium education such that you obtain basic eligibility for higher education studies. Examples of jobs on completion of studies: electrician, industrial electrical technician, operator and electrical installer.
